Zurich and Hamburg, 27th June 2023. HanseMerkur Trust Swiss AG (HMTS) has received the official license to manage collective investment schemes. The Swiss supervisory authority FINMA thus enables HMTS to manage mutual and special funds in Switzerland, Germany and Liechtenstein from now on. In addition, HMTS is allowed to operate distribution and investment products for these products.

The receipt of the license comes just under seven months after the application was submitted to FINMA and represents a milestone for the company. “We are very pleased with the approval from the supervisory authority. This lays the foundation for our fund business. We will now launch two retail funds under Swiss law before the end of June 2023 and distribute them from then on,” says Dominik Nordmann, Managing Director of HMTS.

Specifically, this is the “HMTS Equities Artificial Intelligence”, which uses computer-aided time series models to invest in European equities and equity indices by means of artificial intelligence (AI). The second investment is the “HMTS Equities Value ESG”, which invests globally in sustainable value stocks, i.e. companies with an established business model, low debt and high intrinsic value.

The HMTS product range is to continue to grow steadily in the coming years, particularly in the areas of rules-based approaches, the use of artificial intelligence and environmental, social and governance (ESG). It is planned that HMTS will build up a track record over the next few years and also market the funds to HanseMerkur customers and third parties.

HMTS is a wholly owned subsidiary of HanseMerkur Holding AG. Like its sister companies HanseMerkur Trust and HanseMerkur Grundvermögen, HMTS is assigned to the Asset Management business segment of the HanseMerkur Insurance Group.
